Welcome to the website of Asquith Girls High School, a comprehensive girls high school which aims to be a leader in education for young women.
The School strives to develop young women as independent and responsible learners and leaders for cooperative citizenship.
This statement of purpose guides our planning and our programs. In learning, students continue to gain high academic results from a broad curriculum including over forty courses in the senior school.
The curriculum also includes an innovative Learning To Learn program, which explicitly teaches students thinking skills, problem solving and strategies for managing their own learning more effectively.
In student leadership, we offer a diverse array of programs in both senior and junior schools. Alongside the more traditional prefect and student representative council structures are a host of other interest groups including a social justice team, Student Voice in Learning and peer tutoring, peer mediation and anti-bullying programs.
Asquith Girls is proud to be a public school, including and enabling all students access to an education which is their birthright. We promote the values which public school teachers develop in students - through the curriculum, through the guidance of students in their care, and through students' learning experiences in all dimensions of school life, from the playground and sports field to the stage
