Competition Success!
In 2006 Asquith students entered a variety of competitions. They achieved outstanding results. Computing Skills : 4 Distinctions. English : 3 Distinctions. Mathematics : 8 Distinctions and a winning Mathematical Olympiad team. Science : 8 Distinctions. Spelling : 1. Writing : 4 Distinctions. Australian Language Distinction Certificates : 1. Many more students participated in the competitions and were awarded Credit or Participation Certificates.

Academic Success
Asquith Girls is dedicated to promoting and enhancing students’ skills. This is demonstrated by an ongoing tradition of success in the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate examinations. The school regularly shows exceptional value added results at these examinations beyond what would be predicted from past performance - for students of all levels of ability.
Students consistently gain outstanding HSC results including marks in the 91-100 range (Band 6) in a wide range of subjects.
2008 HSC results:The HSC class of 2008 has again achieved excellent results with 65 band 6 results being awarded. Our DUX, Simone Molloy, performed exceptionally well being placed 3rd in the state for PDHPE. 2008 saw the 2nd best year the school has achieved in Band 6 Results. Students achieved the highest grades (Band 6) in the following subjects: Ancient History, Business Studies, Community and Family Studies, Drama, Economics, Food Technology, Geography, Legal Studies, General Mathematics, Mathematics 2 unit, Mathematics Extension 1&2, Modern History, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Studies of Religion, Textiles and Design, Visual Arts, VET Entertainment Industry and VET Hospitality. A highlight of this year's HSC results was an exceptional 8 band 6's in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
2007 HSC results: students achieved Band 6 Results in the following subjects: Ancient History, Biology, Business Studies, Community and Family Studies, Design &Technology, Drama, English (Advanced), English Extension 1&2, Food Technology, Geography, General Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 2, Italian Beginners, Modern History, History Extension, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Polish, Textiles and Design, VET Entertainment Industry and VET Hospitality. Included in this year's highlights is an exceptional 10 band 6's in Visual Arts.
2006 HSC results: achieved 79 Band 6 results across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs). Students also achieved 175 Band 5 results, again across all KLAs. Results over time indicate an upward performance trend in HSC band achievements over the past five years. General Mathematics, Textiles and Design, Food Technology, and Biology were exceptionally well represented in Band 6 grades.
2005 HSC results: 34 students (25% of students doing the HSC) were listed in the State Honour Roll of Distinguished Achievers in 57 courses. Numerous students also received Band 5 (81-90) results. Ninety-two students received at least 1 Band 5; 75 students received 2 Band 5 outcomes and 49 students received 3 Band 5 outcomes.

GRAND CHAMPION of the
Castle Hill Show, 2005

Louise of Year 10 won ribbons at the Castle Hill Show for her entry - a wooden sewing box constructed in Design & Technology while she was in Year 9 in 2004.The ribbons that Louise won for this entry were: “First Place – Under 14 years Woodwork”, “Champion – Under 14 Handicrafts”, and “Grand Champion – Youth Activities Handicrafts”. Louise’s excellent workmanship and finishing techniques have earned her these well deserved ribbons. Congratulations Louise.

Teaching Staff Recognised
In May 2006 two members of staff were presented with Pride of Workmanship awards by the Berowra Rotary Club. Sharon Seymour, a PDHPE teacher at Asquith Girls for many years and Judy Cassell, a teacher of Textiles and Design who has ensured students of this subject are highly successful in every year from 7 to 12, were very worthy recipients of the awards, having been nominated by their teaching colleagues.
