There are numerous opportunities at Asquith Girls for students to participate in a wide range of sports. These include team and individual sports, a talented athlete program, a ski tour, Years 7 and 8 games days and knockout competitions.

KNOCKOUTS
During 2009 teams have been entered in Knock Out Competitions for tennis, netball, cricket, soccer, U15 water polo, rugby, softball, open water polo, touch football, lawn bowls and volleyball. These teams are supported by the teachers who give up their time to coach them and the parents who assist with transport.

SCHOOL TEAMS
Our water polo teams competed in the Barker Competition with Cameron Ellicott as their coach. Also a volleyball team competed in the Barker comp with Mr. Gutierrez as their coach. The girls smashed all comers to take out the competition undefeated.

SWIMMING CARNIVALS
The Annual School Swimming Carnival was an enjoyable day held at Hornsby Pool on the 19th February.  Almost 700 girls attended and eagerly supported the competition on the day. Highlights included the war-cry competition, the teacher versus Year 12 relay and the house relays, with several new school records being set on the day.  A team will compete at the Zone Swimming Carnival on the 14th of March.

CROSS COUNTRY
The school cross country carnival was held on a beautiful sunny Thursday at the end of Term 2. This was an enjoyable and successful day running between Period 2 and lunch, followed by 1 concert put on by Year 12. The popular Team Biathlon event was run again this year with the ‘Catch Us if You Can” team defeating all comers, including the teachers and two senior teams. A team of 60 girls then went on to compete at the Met North West Girls Zone Championships at Pennant Hills Park on the 20th of May. This was another lovely sunny day and our girls once again did us proud, winning the carnival for the 16th straight year. Twenty-one girls will go on to compete at the Area level competition in Gosford.
