Classroom Rules
The following rules are commonly agreed rules that are to be upheld in all teaching/learning areas.
- Eating or drinking in the classroom, during assemblies or exams is not allowed unless a student has been given special permission to do so (e.g. for students with diabetes).
- Mobile phones are to be turned off during all lessons, assemblies and exams etc. If a phone rings during those times, students will be directed to take the phone to the front office and leave it there for collection at the end of the day. If a student actually takes a call or responds to a message during lessons, assemblies or exams, the phone will be kept at school until a parent comes in to collect it from one of the Deputy Principals.
- Make-up is not expected to be worn at school. Any student who applies make-up in class will have the make-up confiscated and will need to collect it from one of the Deputy Principals. Rule also applies to nail polish.
- Combs or brushes are not to be used in any classroom.
- Sprays (e.g. deodorant, perfume) are not to be used in any classroom.
- Walkmans are to remain in students’ bags during lessons, assemblies and exams. In those lessons where students must leave their bags outside the room, walkmans can be taken into the room but earphones must not be used.
