Instructions for making the apron and cap
Sew shoulder seams
Use bias binding to finish armholes - outer edge of apron and neck - finish neck edge last and leave an extension of tape each end sufficient to tie apron firmly.
Hem or bind top of pocket. Attach to apron.
Bind straight edges of cap first. Then ”bias” edge of cap - leaving an extension of tape each end sufficient to tie cap firmly under hair.
Clearly mark both cap and apron with the student’s name.
Aprons and caps are also available for purchase fron the AGHS Parents Auxiliary Clothing Pool.
Visual Arts
This subject requires protective covering of old clothes eg. a man's shirt or apron.
Uniform Policy
It is the responsibility of every student of Asquith Girls High School to work within the agreed parameters of the school especially with regard to the wearing of school uniform. If any student has a genuine reason for not wearing school uniform on an occasion she should come to school with a handwritten and dated explanation from her parent or caregiver.
School uniform is monitored each day. Failure to wear complete school uniform without appropriate authorisation from the Head Teacher Welfare will result in a range of possible consequences including:
- detention
- the student being excluded from school excursions
- jewellery being confiscated to be collected by the student's parent or caregiver.
