High School is taught by a dedicated experienced staff, committed to ensuring each student has the opportunity to achieve the course outcomes in Mathematics to the highest standard. Students are placed in classes that allow them to progress and be extended in their mathematical learning. Students develop at different rates so class structure in Mathematics allows students to move between classes as their mathematical skills develop.

Resources
The faculty is well resourced; all students are issued with textbooks and electronic learning resources. Students and teachers have access to the latest technology for teaching and learning Mathematics including Interactive White Boards and computer laboratory facilities.
Range of
Mathematics courses to cater for all levels of ability In years 7 and 8 there is a Gifted and Talented class that has extension activities while in years 9 and 10; stage 5.3, 5.2 and 5.1 courses are available.
In the senior school the full range of Higher School Certificate Board of Studies courses are available,
- Extension 2 Mathematics
- Extension 1 Mathematics
- Mathematics 2 unit
- General Mathematics.
Outstanding HSC results

High School students achieve outstanding results in all Mathematics courses in the Higher School Certificate with results that are consistently above the state average. Band 6 results are consistently achieved by students in Mathematics
Academic competitions
The Mathematics faculty enters students in a range of national mathematical competitions. These include the:
- The Australian Mathematics competition
- Mathematics Challenge for young Australians for years 9 and 10
- Australian problem solving Mathematical Olympiad for years 7 and 8.
Learning support
Students experiencing difficulties in their mathematical learning are well supported. Apart from receiving additional teacher support, they are encouraged to attend the after school tutorial centre that operates two afternoons a week after school.
The Mathematics faculty believes in recognising student achieved. Students are rewarded through faculty certificates and presentations at student recognition assemblies during the year and presentation night at the end of each year.
