Swimming Carnival - March 27, 2007, 10:54 am

FUN DAY FOR ALL!

Our Annual School Swimming Carnival was an enjoyable day held at Hornsby Pool on 19th February. It was a hot sunny day, which helped to increase participation, and led to a few sunburnt shoulders for those who weren’t careful. Almost 700 girls attended and were involved in the spirit of the day. Highlights of the day included the war-cry competition, the teachers versus Year 12 relay and the house relays. Thank you to the parents and spectators for sharing our fun and successes, to the staff for their hard work on the day, and to the girls for their excellent behaviour and effort.

It was heartening to see so many Year 12 students attend their last swimming carnival at AGHS.

Congratulations to the following girls who were Age Champions: 12 Yrs Kelsey and  Phillipa; 13 Yrs Alexandra; 14 Yrs Natalie; 15 Yrs Natasha; 16 Yrs Rebecca and 17 Yrs Carly.

Congratulations also to Alexandra, Natalie and Carly who set new records, and to Carly, the fastest swimmer in the school over 50m. Turner house won the carnival, hotly pursued by Bates, then Chisholm and then Gilmore.
